Hunting season is well underway in the Northeast and…although most who take to the woods to stalk their prize trophy or freezer filler believe they are the predator, they themselves often prove to be a hearty meal for a small, pesky resident of the great outdoors…the Ixodesricinus (Icks-oh-dees ry-sin-us).
