2025 – Historic Underground Railroad in PA

Though North of the Mason-Dixon line, Pennsylvania has a rich history in association with the underground railroad that moved many “freedom seekers” out of slave states to the North.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in the Commonwealth, in conjunction with the National Park Service and several other federal agencies, recently hosted the opening of a National Heritage site in Wrightsville that is soon to open to the public.
